The Oval Portrait

Back in 2010, a group of friends wanted to make an animation about the horror short story by American writer Edgar Allan Poe "The Oval Portrait". After reading this short story we found it had a great potiential to be adapted into a short film. My work was to draw some scenes and concept arts that will help to establish the film look. A very pronounced gothic style using german expressionism was decided. Sadly due to lack of time this project was never achieved. Here are some the scenes and designs that I made for it.
